Hollywood has been trying to reboot The Crow for the better part of a decade now and has seen multiple directors and stars come and go, but it now looks like the long-gestating project is getting a new lease on life at Sony Pictures:
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
“The long-in-the-works remake of the cult supernatural revenge action movie that starred Brandon Lee, titled The Crow Reborn, has landed at Sony Pictures, which has signed to distribute the feature project.”
The original version of The Crow, of course, is infamous for being Brandon Lee’s final film, as the young actor died on set after a prop gun mishap in 1993. Last year, it was reported that Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Justice League) was attached to star in the reboot, with Corin Hardy (The Hallow) set to direct. No official word has been given on whether or not Momoa or Hardy are sticking around but according to THR, the pair are expected to follow the project over to Sony “in the near term.”
Hopefully Sony will be able to do what Relativity never could and actually get this thing made!
