A Little Shop of Horrors remake is in the works, and Rocketman’s Taron Egerton is being eyed for the lead.

As reported by Full Circle Cinema, Egerton is in talks to play Seymour Krelborn in the Little Shop of Horrors remake, a role previously played by the great Rick Moranis. Fresh off the success of Rocketman, which resulted in Egerton winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor – Motion Picture or Comedy, the English actor’s star has never been brighter. Although we’d much rather see Egerton replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the MCU (just sayin’), the thought of him playing Seymour in a remake does sound pretty intriguing.

We’re also hearing, thanks to insider Jeff Sneider, that Scarlett Johannson and Billy Porter are also in talks to join the remake and are being eyed for the roles of Audrey and Audrey II.

Released back in 1986 as a remake of the original 1960 film of the same name, Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of a geeky florist shop worker who finds out his Venus flytrap can speak. The film starred Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Vincent Gardenia, Steve Martin, and Levi Stubbs.
