Depending on who you ask, Woody Harrelson’s casting in the still-untitled Han Solo anthology movie is either a stroke of genius or destined to derail the whole production, but let’s forget all that for a moment and focus on what we do know: his character’s name.
Harrelson appeared on last night’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he reiterated that his character is a “criminal and mentor to Han Solo. The actor then revealed that this character’s name is Beckett. This would seem to refute previous rumors that Harrelson was playing Garris Shrike, the man who raised Han Solo. That being said, it’s possible that Shrike has been rolled into the Beckett character.
At any rate, this is admittedly not much to go on and it’s possible that Harrelson’s character’s name could still change, but for the time being, at least we know what to call Harrelson’s character.
