If Disney is working on an Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off movie, Ewan McGregor knows nothing about it.

The actor, who played the iconic Jedi in Star Wars: Episodes I-III, told The View this week that he’d still like to return to the role of Obi-Wan, but has no knowledge of any plans to make a spin-off dedicated to the character.

“I would totally do it, of course,” McGregor said. “There’s no plans, as such, to do it as far as I know.”

In truth, it’s hardly surprising that McGregor is unclear on Disney’s plans for future Star Wars spin-offs, as there have been a number of conflicting reports on the subject over the last few months. While it was initially reported that Disney was scrapping plans for several upcoming Star Wars movies, including ones dedicated to Obi-Wan and Boba Fett, following the commercial disappointment of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the studio later denied those reports, but didn’t provide any further details.

McGregor suggested that one possible reason for why he hasn’t heard anything is that Disney may be looking into getting an older actor for the part to account for the time difference, as the film is expected to take place between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

“There must be a good story to tell, as they’re doing spin-offs — there’s likely to be a good Obi-Wan between me and Alec Guinness in that time.”

McGregor finished by reiterating his desire to reprise the role, though he jokingly admitted that his enthusiasm may be starting to look like he’s begging for work. “I’ve answered yes so many times that it looks like I’m sort of touting for work at Disney’s door, you know what I mean?”

You can catch Ewan McGregor in another Disney movie, Christopher Robin, which is in theaters right now.
