Spider-Man is officially returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and we can’t contain our excitement!

After months of back and forth, Sony and Marvel have come to an agreement (for now) that will see the two companies co-produce a third installment in the Spider-Man: Homecoming series, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige on board. Few details have been released thus far, but we do know Tom Holland will reprise his role and that the movie is scheduled to hit theatres on July 16, 2021.

Shortly after the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home this summer, it was revealed that Spidey would be leaving the MCU after Sony and Marvel failed to reach an agreement on profit sharing, or so we’ve been told. That said, we’ve also heard Marvel was pushing for Tom Hardy’s Venom to be included in the third Spider-Man movie but Sony was against the idea, fearing that rushing it would spoil their “spider-verse” plans moving forward.

What are your thoughts on Spider-Man returning to the MCU? Do you think Sony and Marvel will eventually work things out and the iconic character will return to the MCU for good? Let us know in the comments below.
