Marvel’s Shang-Chi actor is not a fan of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, but unlike most people we know, Simu Liu’s reason might surprise you.

Early this morning, Liu took to Twitter to share his thoughts on recently released and underperforming Birds of Prey movie, saying “watch #BirdsOfPrey – it’s a great film w/ strong comedy, great action and incredible performances – PLUS features kick-ass female heroes!!” The Candian actor went on to explain why he enjoyed Birds of Prey more than Suicide Squad, and we couldn’t help but laugh at his response.

Marvel’s first-ever Asian-led film is being helmed by Destin Daniel Creton and stars Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung Chiu-wai as Mandarin, and Awkwafina in an unknown role. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled to arrive in theatres on February 11, 2021.

Are you planning to see Birds of Prey in theatres, or will you wait until it arrives on one of the many streaming services out there? Let us know in the comments below.
