Seth Rogen Addresses Whether There Will Ever Be A ‘Pineapple Express 2’

Those holding out hope for a “Pineapple Express 2” may still have to wait awhile.

Seth Rogen, who starred in the 2008 stoner comedy alongside James Franco, was asked during a Twitter Q&A on Monday whether or not there will ever be a sequel to Pineapple Express. Rogen’s reply was both optimistic realistic, to say the least.

“I hope there will be one day…[However] I think in the Sony hack, you can literally read the email where one of the executives decides not to make it — I know I did,” he said with a laugh. “So yeah, that’s a fun little behind-the-scenes glimpse of why there’s no Pineapple Express 2 right now.”

Rogen’s full reply can be seen below. Maybe he will turn to crowdfunding to help secure financial backing as the creators of Veronica Mars did a few years ago? At least we’ll always have this unofficial sequel from This is the End:
