Marvel Studios is eyeing Sam Raimi to helm Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and we couldn’t be more excited.

According to a recent report by Variety, Raimi is in talks to replace Scott Derrickson as the new director of Doctor Strange 2, after it was announced back in early January that Derrickson would be leaving the project following creative differences. Marvel has yet to comment on the recent report, but if the news is true, fans of the original Spider-Man trilogy will be happy to know Raimi is making his triumphant return to the superhero genre.

Raimi last worked on a superhero movie in 2007 following the completion of Spider-Man 3, and although the film wasn’t that great, the previous two Spider-Man films were. With this in mind, we fully indorse Marvel hiring Raimi and can only hope the news turns out to be true.

Would you like to see Raimi join the MCU and helm Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or do you think Marvel Studios should hire another talented directed to helm the sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
