Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn’t come out for another few months, but that hasn’t stopped the hype train from already leaving the station for Star Wars: Episode VII, which is currently being filmed in Ireland.
While we don’t even know the full title for the film yet, there are already major plot rumors circling. The latest potential bombshell: Darth Vader is not only going to be appearing in the spin-off film Rogue One, but could also turn up in Episode VIII — and Hayden Christiensen would be reprising the role.
According to Making Star Wars, “A team in the U.K. are soon heading to the U.S. to begin training Hayden Christensen for a Star Wars: Episode VIII appearance of some sort.” In addition, reports indicate that a “fully operational” Vader armor set, including his iconic helmet, are being developed for Rogue One.
This raises a bunch of questions as to how Vader might appear in Episode VIII: will it be as a flashback or will he be resurrected entirely? That being said, Star Wars fans are sure to have even more pressing questions in regards to this rumor, notably: “Why would they even consider bring Hayden “Mannequin Skywalker” Christiensen back?” We’re totally fine with Vader coming back, but is too much to ask for a new actor to take up the Sith Lord’s lightsaber? Heck, is David Prowse still available?
On a more positive note, we’re now less than three months away from The Force Awakens‘ December 18th release date! The long wait is finally almost over…
