We’re still a few months away from the release of Wonder Woman, but the film is already had some test screenings, meaning that there are people out there who have actually watched it. Naturally, this has led to a new rumor about a plot detail that Warner Bros. has yet to reveal and it looks like it involves none other than the Dark Knight.
According to this new rumor (via Flickering Myth), Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne/Batman will have a cameo in Wonder Woman. How is this possible with the film being set during World War I, you might ask? Well, it looks like at least some of the film will take place in the present day, so it makes sense that Wonder Woman’s newest ally after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice might turn up.
Apparently, the film opens in modern-day Paris with Diana (Gal Gadot) having an email exchange with Bruce Wayne. Bruce sends Diana the photo of her that he found on Lex Luthor’s hard drive and asks her to join the Justice League. This all leads into the film’s main narrative, with Wonder Woman telling the story of her exploits during the war.
While we have no idea if this rumor is true, it certainly sounds plausible, as it be a good way of explaining why the film is primarily focused on events from Wonder Woman’s past, as opposed to a more modern day narrative. If true, this would represent Ben Affleck’s third appearance in the DC Extended Universe following his role in Batman v Superman and cameo in Suicide Squad.
