Ryan Reynolds recently expressed interest in seeing Deadpool appear with Wolverine onscreen again someday, but it looks like that dream has become a reality, as TheWrap is reporting that the actor has shot a scene as Deadpool for 2017’s Logan.
According to a source with knowledge of the project, the Deadpool scene will most likely be a post-credit scene, although Fox has declined to comment.
Reynolds’ first turn as Deadpool happened alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, although it was a much different (read: crappy) version of the character than the one audiences saw in the acclaimed standalone movie earlier this year.
Deadpool 2 director David Leitch, who also co-directed John Wick, is reported to have directed the scene in question.
UPDATE: According to Ryan Reynolds, the above report is untrue:
Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1
