Margot Robbie’s star continues to rise, as the Australian actress is set to begin producing feature films through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner. She has also signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. and according to The Hollywood Reporter, one of Robbie’s first producing gigs will be a spin-off based on her Suicide Squad character Harley Quinn.
This would make Harley Quinn the first confirmed Suicide Squad spin-off (previous reports have suggested that Warner Bros. is also interested in making Deadshot, Joker, and even Captain Boomerang spin-offs). Few details are known at this time, but Latino-Review reports that the Harley Quinn movie will feature various female characters from the DC Comics universe. Perhaps this means we will see an adaptation of Paul Dini’s Gotham City Sirens, which teams Harley with fellow female Batman villains Poison Ivy and Catwoman.Source: DC Comics
Harley Quinn currently has no writer or director attached, and no expected release date.
