Report: ‘Deadpool 2’ Will Begin Filming in Vancouver in January

Even though the planned sequel to Deadpool seems to have a number of problems (like, the director and the star having a disagreement big enough that the director walks out), the show must go on!

According to, a new filming schedule for the city of Vancouver cites Deadpool 2 beginning production in January 2017. Considering a replacement director hasn’t even officially been named yet, that’s a pretty short preparation window.

Tim Miller, who directed the original, recently dropped out after numerous disagreements with star Ryan Reynolds over the direction of the franchise. Miller reportedly wanted a more stylized superhero movie, but Reynolds wanted to stick with the raunchy comedy bit that made Deadpool one of the most successful R-rated movies in history. Mashable later reported that David Leitch, who directed John Wick, was the odds-on-favorite to be named the new man in charge of Deadpool 2.
