New Rumor Points Towards Yoda Returning in ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’

We don’t know much about Star Wars: Episode VIII yet, but rumors are heating up that another famous Jedi might be in line for a return.

Frank Oz may be reprising his role as Yoda in the yet-to-be-named movie. He was spotted on the set earlier this year, and now Reddit user Skywalkergal (relevant username) claims to have inside knowledge that many people from the original puppet team that brought Yoda to life in Empire Strike Back and Return of the Jedi have returned to make a new Yoda puppet for Episode VIII.

Of course, there were lots of rumors that Yoda would somehow appear in Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and that didn’t really happen. So take these rumors with a grain of salt. Still, there’s only so many characters left that could guide Rey in the ways of the force and Yoda would be one of them.

The redditor also claims that director Rian Johnson confirmed that the next episode would be the first one to not immediately begin the story in space. Rather, it will pick up exactly where The Force Awakens left off, with Luke and Rey meeting for the first time.
