Marvel has kept most of the real details about Avengers: Endgame under wraps as the April 26 release date creeps up on us. There’s even a theory that all of the clips in the previous trailers take place in the first 15 to 20 minutes of the movie, leaving the other two and a half hours a complete surprise for viewers. Maybe that’s true. Maybe it isn’t. Either way, credit to Marvel for maintaining an ultimate level of suspense.
On April 2, which is also when tickets officially went on sale in many locations, Marvel dropped a new trailer for Endgame, one that actually contained some new footage. It’s not as long as a traditional trailer, clocking in at exactly one minute long, but MCU fans are salivating over any new clues at this point.
Check it out:
-Bruce Banner and James Rhodes talking about trying to fight Thanos “short-handed.” Well, yeah.
-Tony Stark opining about “how much we have left,” as he hugs Pepper Potts. Maybe he’s worried about losing more?
-A very symbolic handshake between Stark and Steve Rogers, especially considering the events of Civil War.
-The team flying into space (with Captain Marvel!), presumably to confront Thanos on whatever planet he has set up his tranquil farm.
-Stark looking at a picture of himself and Peter Parker, as Thanos narrates “You could not live with your own failure.”
-Finally, a shot of Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor (we think?) approaching Thanos before (or after?) some sort of epic showdown.
There’s a lot to unpack in just 60 seconds of footage!
