Mark Wahlberg Explains ‘Six Billion Dollar Man’ Delays & Role In The ‘Uncharted’ Movie

The highly-anticipated Six Billion Dollar Man movie is still a ways away from being released, says Mark Wahlberg.

During a recent interview with Collider to promote the release of Spenser Confidentialnow streaming on Netflix – Wahlberg was asked why The Six Billion Dollar Man movie is taking so long, and the actor didn’t hold back.

“By the time it comes out, we’re going to call it 60-year-old 6 Billion Dollar Man,” he joked. “They’ll have to change the title to that. At least then you’ll know why. You know what, it’s one of those things where we just have to get it right. Bill Dubuque is writing the script now. So, I think we have an amazing idea. We’ll have an amazing screenplay and we’re supposed to be getting it Friday, so I’m thinking this week. Hopefully, we’ll then pick a start date and a release date and go make the movie.”

The Boston native went on to discuss his role in the upcoming Uncharted movie and compared the script to reading “Indiana Jones or Thomas Crown Affair.”

“I start filming in about two weeks time. It’s exciting because, without giving too much away, it’s more of an origin story. Meeting them, and Nathan becoming Nathan. Sully and him meeting, trying to not only get over on each other, but also starting to partner up and develop that relationship. It’ll be very cool. It’s the first time I’m in a movie that’s a movie. I felt like when I was reading it, I was reading Indiana Jones or Thomas Crown Affair. It’s got these great elements of these heist movies and adventure movies like I’ve never been a part of.”

Barring any delays, Ruben Fleischer’s Uncharted movie will arrive in theatres on March 5, 2021. Few details have been released as of yet, but we can confirm Wahlberg will be joined by Tom Holland, Antonio Banderas, and Tati Gabrielle.
