John Wick

‘John Wick’ Director Corrects YouTuber Who Tallied Wick’s Kill Total

If you’ve seen John Wick (and you definitely should see it, if you haven’t), you’ll know that sad Keanu Reeves brutally murders a whole host of mobsters and various other bad guys as he attempts to get revenge on the one dude who stole his car and then killed his dog. That’s a big no-no, you see.

As is standard practice for shoot-em-up action movies, a faithful fan of the movie has edited together Wick’s “Kill Count” — that is, a running total of every baddie that he shoots in the face during the 101 minutes of movie. And it’s great. A lovely seven-minute recap of one of the best action movies in recent memory.

Grand total: 76 kills!

There’s just one problem with video creator Nick DiNizio‘s math — apparently, he forgot a few people. John Wick director Chad Stahelski claims the number is actually a bit higher.

That number’s a little light. I saw that video, but they forgot to count the guys in the various SUVs he crashed and blew up. If you include them then it’s actually 84. (Via)

Stahelski will also be directing the sequel, John Wick: Chapter 2, so we can probably expect that kill count to rise well above 100 for a movie that he promises will be bigger and better than the original.
