Jemaine Clement & Bret McKenzie Have Started Writing A ‘Flight of the Conchords’ Movie

Fans of HBO’s comedy series Flight of The Conchords can go ahead and get excited — New Zealand’s favorite musical comedy duo are gearing up for a return.

“We have actually started writing one,” Jermaine Clement said in an interview with IndieWire. “Who knows if it will ever be made, we’ve written some notes for some different film ideas. We’re not down to the stage where we’re going, ‘The film is going to be like this’, it could be this, this, this, this, this.”

Along with the potential movie, Clement says him and Bret McKenzie will also be doing a tour that includes North America.

The self professed “fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo from New Zealand” previously enjoyed two hit seasons of their musical comedy show on HBO (the series was nominated for several Emmys, but did not win) and even won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album in 2008.
