Most viewers of Marvel’s hit Netflix series Daredevil would likely agree that Charlie Cox does a fine job in the title role. His work as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is definitely the actor’s most career-defining role to date, but as it turns out, Cox is so committed to being Matt Murdock that he forgot to shut it off during his audition to play another iconic character.

Cox auditioned for the role of young Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off, a role that eventually went to Hail, Caesar’s Alden Ehrenreich. Unfortunately for Cox, playing a blind lawyer for two full seasons of Daredevil has led to him adopting his character’s mannerisms, such as not making eye contact with others. As it turns out, making direct contact was one of the main qualities the casting director of the Han Solo film was looking for.

According to CinemaBlend, Cox made the mistake of not looking at the person he was auditioning for while attempting to pull off Han Solo’s roguish swagger and he never got a callback. Maybe it’s for the best though; red isn’t Han Solo’s color anyway.
