Here’s What Christian Bale Might Look Like As Marvel Villain, Mephisto

Earlier this week, we were surprised to learn Academy-award winning actor Christian Bale is (potentially) in talks to join Marvel’s upcoming film, Thor: Love and Thunder. Neither side has confirmed or denied anything as of yet, and although we find it a little hard to believe, if the former Batman star were to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it would be a massive win for everyone involved.

Now, as you might expect, it didn’t take long for people to begin guessing who Bale might play in the fourth Thor film. Fan favorites like Beta Ray Bill, Dario Agger (Minotaur), Ares, and Cul Borson were among the most suggested and likely options, but is was BossLogic’s take on Bale as iconic Marvel villain, Mephisto, that got us excited.

Although we love the idea of Beta Ray Bill joining the MCU, the thought of the Bale playing Mephisto feels like a match made in heaven. In the comics, Mephisto plays a significant role in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline, so considering he didn’t appear in either Avengers: Infinity War or Endgame, we believe there’s a strong chance the villainous demon makes his debut in one of Marvel’s upcoming projects. While it might make more sense for Mephisto to make his debut in WandaVision or Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it wouldn’t surprise us in the least if Marvel Studios decided the extra-dimensional demon would be best suited as one of the primary antagonists of Love and Thunder.
