Ghost In The Shell: See Scarlett Johansson In Action In New Teaser Clips

DreamWorks’ somewhat controversial adaptation of the Ghost in the Shell Manga series comes out next year (six months to be precise) and the studio’s marketing campaign is now in full swing with the release of five 10-second teasers for the film.

If you were hoping to get a better idea of what the film’s story will be about, you’re out of luck as these teasers tell us next to nothing about what’s going on. However, a few of them do feature Scarlett Johannson’s lead character and it’s pretty clear that she isn’t quite human, so that’s neat.

Here are the five teasers in order of their release:

As The Nerdist notes, all we really know about Scarlett Johannson’s character right now is that she is called “the Major” and that she is based off of the Motoko Kusanagi character from the Ghost in the Shell manga and anime. You can tell in the second clip that the woman the Major is talking to is a bit unsettled by her uncanny valley appearance, so expect that to be a running theme in the film.

Ghost in the Shell plugs into theaters March 31, 2017.
