Netflix’s Red Notice has officially begun filming and nobody is more pumped than The Rock.

Written and directed by Rawson Thurber and starring the remarkable trio of Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, Red Notice tells the story of an Interpool agent in pursuit of the world’s most wanted art thief. Netflix’s upcoming action-comedy is scheduled to be released sometime in 2021, but the official release date has yet to be confirmed.

Johnson took to Instagram late last night to reveal filming was officially underway.

Day 1 of shooting our RED NOTICE has officially begun for @Netflix. Me and my friends @vancityreynolds and @gal_gadot are on the move. In the world of international crime, an Interpol issued RED NOTICE is a global alert to hunt down and capture the worlds most wanted. The world’s greatest art thief. The world’s greatest tracker. The worlds greatest conman. #REDNOTICE #Netflix

During an interview with Variety last summer, Thurber revealed how happy he is to be working with Netflix.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be making Red Notice with Scott Stuber and Netflix – a company that believes in filmmakers and big ideas for a global audience.”

Does just having Gadot, Johnson, and Reynolds onboard automatically mean the Red Notice will be a hit or will do you think the movie will fail to deliver like many of Netflix’s big-budget blockbusters? Let us know in the comments below.
