Fans are quite divided on whether or not Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a good movie, so much so that a petition has been created on Change.org to stop Zack Snyder from directing Justice League.
The petition, created by Bryan Cruz, argues that DC and Warner Bros. should find a different director to make the film, which is currently scheduled for a 2017 release.:
“Zack Snyder is not the person to bring the Justice League to the big screen. He’s had two chances now to adapt DC characters and has produced middling results.
Even if you loved Man of Steel and BvS. There has to come a time when WB and DC want someone at the helm that can create something that WON’T divide people in such a way.
The building blocks are there for a great different set of superhero movies. Good actors and actresses and even directors. Zack Snyder is just not the guy that should be in charge of the biggest and most important films in the franchise. Especially with his track record now.”
Shaky logic notwithstanding, this petition is symptomatic of the intensely-negative buzz (this site has contributed its fair share of it) Batman v Superman has been receiving from critics and fans alike. Given that the film has surpassed the half a billion dollar mark in worldwide box office as of this writing, it’s hard to see Warner Bros. caring enough to replace Snyder when he’s proven that he can make the studio money.
