Eazy-E’s Daughter Says ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Got A Lot Wrong

Straight Outta Compton, the smash hit N.W.A. biopic about the world’s most dangerous group has been praised by critics and rap fans alike.

One person, however, who isn’t entirely impressed is E.B. Wright, daughter of Eric “Eazy-E” Wright. She claims (and she’s not alone in saying this) that the film leans too far in the direction of portraying Ice Cube and Dr. Dre in a positive light, and skips out, whether intentionally or not, on other important parts of the group’s history.

She has a point. After the explosive breakup of N.W.A., “Real Muthaf**cking G’s” was one of the hardest hitting diss tracks in the back-and-forth between Eazy and his former homies. E.B. went to say that the movie didn’t touch on what happened to Ruthless Records after Eazy-E’s death, alleging that that Eazy’s wife Tomica ran the business into the ground.

Although E.B. doesn’t mention it, a lot of people also noticed that Dre’s brutal beating of Dee Barnes, a female rapper and television personality, in 1991 was completely absent from the film.
