The Mouse House is officially ditching the Fox name and will rebrand 20th Century Fox to 20th Century Studios and Fox Searchlight Studios to Searchlight Studios.

As reported by Variety, Disney Studios has already begun the transition by changing email addresses and movie credits:

“Email addresses have changed for Searchlight staffers, with the fox.com address replaced with a searchlightpictures.com address. On the poster for Searchlight’s next film “Downhill,” with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell, the credits begin with “Searchlight Pictures Presents.” The film will be the first Searchlight release to debut with the new logo. “Call of the Wild,” an upcoming family film, will be released under the 20th Century banner, sans Fox.”

After acquiring Fox’s assets last March, it was only a matter of time before Disney began phasing out the Fox moniker and if we’re being honest, we’re actually a little surprised it took this long. What are your thoughts on Disney rebranding their Fox properties? Let us know in the comments below.
