Today is David Lynch’s 74th birthday, and in celebration, Netflix teamed up with the Oscar-winning director to create a short film titled What Did Jack Do?, about a detective (played by Lynch) who is interrogating a monkey suspected of murder… and you can watch it right now!

For those less familiar with his work, Lynch is an American actor/filmmaker best known for classics like Eraserhead (1977), The Elephant Man (1980), Blue Velvet (1986), and Mulholland Drive (2001). Despite his impressive resume and being nominated for an Academy Award 13 times, it wasn’t until last year that Lynch received his first Oscar. In 2019, along with fellow recipients Wes Studi and Lina Wertmuller, Lynch received was awarded an Honorary Academy Award, a lifetime achievement presented to those who exhibitexceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy.”
