Is Dave Bautista in talks to play Bane?

A few days ago, Bautista shared a photo on Twitter of himself at Warner Bros. Studios, accompanied by the caption, “It won’t come to you, so get after it!! #DreamChaser.” While this could mean absolutely nothing, fans (including us) are desperately hoping the cryptic tweet has something to do with the former WWE superstar potentially playing Bane in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel or Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

Now, before we get too ahead of ourselves here, we’d like to point out that Gunn’s Suicide Squad has already started filming, which means if the wrestler-turned-actor did meet with Warner Bros. about playing Bane, it more than likely was about the upcoming Batman movie. That said, Bautista and Gunn have remained close ever since Guardians of the Galaxy was released, and after Disney fired the director for some offensive tweets, Bautista was one of the first to come to his friend’s defense. So… anything is possible.

Considering the number of villains already confirmed for The Batman, we’d much rather see Bane join the Suicide Squad sequel, but at the end of the day, the thought of Bautista playing the iconic villain is just too perfect to pass up, so we’re good with either.

Would you prefer Bautista to join Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie, or would he be a better fit alongside Robert Pattinson in The Batman?  Let us know in the comments below.
