Daniel Craig Finally Confirms His Return As James Bond

After months (it’s felt like years) of rumors and speculation surrounding Daniel Craig’s potential return to the 007 franchise, the actor officially confirmed he’ll be starring in James Bond 25.

Craig made the announcement on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after he was asked by the host if he was planning to return.

“Yes,” Craig responded, without hesitation. “I always wanted to. I wanted a break.”

This will mark Craig’s fifth outing as the MI6 secret agent and, according to Craig, most likely his last, as told Colbert that Bond 25 will be his swan song. “I think this is it … I just want to go out on a high note.”

Craig’s most recent outing, 2015’s Spectre, would have made for a disappointing final outing for the actor, so it’s refreshing to hear him confident that the new film will be a return to glory, as it were, for the Bond franchise. As things stand right now, Craig is the only confirmed actor for Bond 25 and no director is yet attached but with the film not scheduled to hit until November 8, 2019, there’s still plenty of time to get everything sorted out.

Are you happy to see Craig take one more lap around the 007 circuit, or would you have preferred to see a new actor take his place? Sound off in the comments below!
