The first three installments in Paramount’s never-ending Transformers franchise all had one thing in common (besides explosions, ridiculous plots, Optimus Prime … okay, they actually had a lot in common): Shia LaBeouf. LaBeouf’s human protagonist was really the heart and soul of the franchise and even though his replacement, Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager, has a much cooler name, I think the franchise as a whole has been worse off without LaBeouf’s presence.
Fortunately, there might be a chance of LaBeouf one day returning … if he can get his act together.
This, according to franchise director Michael Bay, who tells CinePOP:
He can come back. If he stays out of jail he can come back. He’s been in jail quite a bit in America, so if he stays out of jail long enough he can come back.
There you have it, folks. If Shia LaBeouf can keep stuff like this to a minimum:
…he can hangout with the robots in disguise again. I believe in you, Shia!
