They were (temporary) enemies in Civil War, but Chris Evans would still like to see Steve Rogers meet up with Peter Parker again in next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The actor was asked during an interview with MTV International which Marvel film he’d like to see Captain America in next and Evans replied that he thinks Tom Holland’s first solo outing as Spider-Man would be a great fit for a Cap cameo.

Guardians [of the Galaxy Vol.2]would be fun, wouldn’t it?” Evans said, before admitting that it may not be the best fit for the character. “It’s very outer spacey-y. Cap’s more of an Earth-bound guy.”

“Maybe the next Spider-Man [films]. Those are going to be fantastic, and I think Tom’s just a great actor, so that might be a fun one to pop up into.”

Robert Downey Jr. is already confirmed to be reprising his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the film, so it would be fitting to see a young Spidey interact with another one of his biggest idols in the form of Captain America. The two shared a brief moment of bonding over their New York heritage in Civil War, so that would be a great jumping off point for more interactions going forward (this is something we actually predicted being a possibility in a previous Civil War-related post)

Spider-Man: Homecoming is directed by Jon Watts and hits theaters July 7, 2017.
