Charlie Cox Says He Might Get Recast When Daredevil Appears In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

You should know by now that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is huge and ever-expanding. Not only do all the movies exists in a singular fictional timeline, but now television shows are being added to the mix as well.

Unfortunately, it’s not always a seamless crossover. Although the hit Netflix series Daredevil and Jessica Jones make repeated mentions to the events of the various Avengers films, there’s a possibility that Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter will not be appearing as their iconic alter egos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

“Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are two very different things,” Cox recently told Entertainment Tonight. “So even if the character were to appear in that film, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I would appear in that film. I will pick a fight with the guy that they choose.”

When asked if we wanted the part, he said he would love to be considered:

“That would be a dream. But that is not something that has been discussed with me at this point.”

While nothing has been confirmed by Marvel, Infinity War could feature the largest collection of super characters ever in one film. Aside from the obvious heroes (The Avengers themselves), the movie could very well feature members of Agent Carter (ABC), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (ABC), Daredevil (Netflix), Jessica Jones (Netflix), Luke Cage (Netflix), Guardians of the Galaxy (Marvel Studios), Ant-Man (Marvel Studios), and/or Spider-Man (Marvel Studios).

Cox has done such a great job reviving the character of Daredevil, it would be a shame if he had to hand it over to someone else for Infinity War. Honestly, just look at the last time that movie execs went with a well-known actor to play the Man Without Fear — and then immediately forget that the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie ever existed.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in 2018, so there’s still plenty of time to sort everything out. We still have a our fingers crossed for Cox to keep the role, though.
