Bryan Cranston may not be a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger, but he’s going to be filling a role that’s just important in the upcoming feature film.
The Breaking Bad star revealed in a Twitter post yesterday that he will be playing the Rangers’ mentor Zordon in the film reboot based on the early 90s TV series.
This actually isn’t the first time Cranston has been involved with the Power Rangers franchise, as the actor voiced a number of characters for the television show when he was younger. In fact, the Blue Power Ranger’s name, Billy Cranston, was inspired by him.
Cranston will star opposite Elizabeth Banks, who has been cast as the villainous Rita Repulsa, as well as a stable of young actors, including Dacre Montgomery as Jason / The Red Ranger, Becky G as Trini / The Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack / The Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly / The Pink Ranger, and RJ Cyler as Billy / The Blue Ranger.
Power Rangers opens March 24, 2017.
