Kung Fu Panda

Bryan Cranston is Po’s Father in ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ Trailer

Via DreamWorks

Hilarious sitcom dad. Meth kingpin. Guy who dies, like, 10 minutes into that Godzilla remake. And now, estranged father of a Panda who happens to be the Dragon Warrior. Is there anything Bryan Cranston can’t do?

In the second official trailer for DreamWorks forthcoming sequel (threequel?), Po (voiced again by Jack Black) encounters his father (Cranston), who needs his help to defeat an evil kung fu master and save the entirety of panda-kind. Also returning to do voice-work are Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, and Jackie Chan. Along with Cranston, J.K. Simmons will make his Kung Fu Panda debut.

Here’s the official synopsis from the trailer:

When Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible—learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!

Kung Fu Panda is scheduled to hit theaters in January 2016.
