Bryan Cranston Becomes Jack Torrance In New Super Bowl 2020 Commercial

The Super Bowl might still be a few days away, but Moutain Dew couldn’t help themselves, releasing a new Shining-inspired commercial that we’re more than likely going see a handful of times during Sunday’s big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.

As many of you know, Jack Nicholson’s crazed ax-wielding rampage from Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novel The Shining is one of the most iconic scenes in the history of cinema. So, to see it recreated to sell soda was a little aggravating, but just knowing Bryan Cranston was involved made it impossible not to enjoy the clip. I mean, who doesn’t want to see Cranston do his best Jack Torrance impression?
