It was a sad day in the comic book world when Marvel kingpin (pun intended) Stan Lee passed away six months ago. While his characters and spirit will surely live on in the universe he helped create, the most visible difference will be the eventual end of his cameos in Marvel movies.

It was a well-reported fact that Lee had filmed multiple future cameos in advance, knowing that he was already in his 90s and wouldn’t live forever. However, it sounds like his upcoming cameo in Avengers: Endgame could be the last time we see Lee appear in any Marvel film.

During a recent press tour in India, Endgame co-director Joe Russo confirmed that Lee’s final cameo was likely in the upcoming Avengers finale. However, there is a small chance that Lee might also cameo in Spider-Man: Far From Home — Russo couldn’t recall whether Lee was healthy enough to film one more scene.

Honestly, it makes sense to have Endgame be Lee’s final cameo. He’s appeared in 22 straight MCU movies, and since this movie is the culmination of a decade-long story arc, and will close the book on a number of beloved Marvel characters, it would be fitting if it was Lee’s final cameo too.

While we wait for Endgame (and Lee’s likely last appearance on film), check out this supercut of all of Stan’s previous cameos (both MCU and non-MCU movies or TV shows). Excelsior!
