While speaking with the press following last weekend’s BAFTA event, Andy Serkis was asked for an update on the highly-anticipated Venom sequel and although the director couldn’t reveal much, we now know the sequel has begun shooting and will feature an unknown nemesis.

“We’ve got the magnificent Tom Hardy, who’s obviously at the center of it, and we sort of see a deepening of the relationship between him and obviously there’s a nemesis character and… that’s all I can say.”

If all goes as planned, Venom 2 is scheduled to release on October 2, 2020. The upcoming sequel will feature the return of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Reid Scott as Dan Lewis, and Naomie Harris as Shriek. Although Serkis didn’t exactly reveal who Venom would square off against in the sequel, all signs point to Carnage and Shriek. Considering how dangerous Carnage and Shriek are, we have a strong feeling the rumors of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man making a cameo in Venom 2 makes a lot of sense.
