In an age where physical media is quickly disappearing, the necessity of pre-ordering your favorite video games has become largely unnecessary. That’s why many games now offer rewards if you pre-order ahead of time. This includes WWE 2K17, which ran a big promotional campaign on the fact that you could get exclusive Goldberg DLC if you pre-ordered the game. In fact, the presence of Goldberg in the game is one of the reasons why we’re getting Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, so nobody can pretend it never happened.
Well, it turns out that “exclusive DLC” doesn’t really mean what you think it does, because it was revealed today that absolutely anyone who wants to play as Goldberg can do so, provided they’re willing to pay five bucks for the DLC pack. Sure, it’s not free, but at least if you’d waited until now, you’d know if the game, and its DLC, was worth buying before you shelled out sixty bucks, sight unseen.
The lesson, as always, is “Don’t Pre-Order Video Games”.
