Gamers have been begging Rockstar Games to make a sequel to the much-loved Red Dead Redemption for years. It’s been six years since John Marston’s western adventure was released, but still no official word on another game.
However, there is hope.
A recent leak of some production art showcases the massive map that is, apparently, from the next Red Dead game. Not only that, but the map appears to offer proof that the game will be a prequel, since there is a distinct lack of railroad. There is also an area called “New Bordeaux,” which is where Mafia 3 will take place. Perhaps there will be a tie-in between the two games, since Mafia‘s development team Take-Two Interactive is owned by Rockstar.

The map has been confirmed as real, according to Techradar. They suggest it is “a very recent art direction map.” The popular theory is that Rockstar will officially announce a Red Dead sequel in the near future, possibly at E3.
