Ubisoft will not be releasing a new entry in the mainline Assassin’s Creed series this year , but if you thought Ubisoft would be able to make it through 2016 without an Assassin’s Creed release ready for the holidays, you clearly don’t know Ubisoft.
A leak discovered on a Korean ratings board and posted to Neogaf has revealed that Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One. Ezio’s story spans across three games—Assassin’s Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations, so the collection will likely include remastered editions of those three titles.
Although Ubisoft has yet to confirm anything, it’s safe to assume that The Ezio Collection will be out before the end of the year, as Ubisoft is unlikely to pass up the opportunity to sell an Assassin’s Creed game alongside the feature length movie that’s out this December.
The Assassin’s Creed games have definitely grown stale and repetitive over the years, but Assassin’s Creed 2 in particular is one of the best games of the last console generation, and a remastered version sounds pretty tempting. Brotherhood and to a lesser extent Revelations are also good games in their own right.
