Yet another video game has felt what seems like at times to be the near-constant sting of being delayed until next year. This time, it’s UbiSoft’s South Park: The Fractured But Whole, the sequel to the actually good and critically acclaimed The Stick of Truth, a game which itself was delayed so many times (and even changed publishers when original license holders THQ went bankrupt) that South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone said they would never make another video game as a result (obviously, they were incorrect). It’s not the end of the world, however, as the game, which was originally scheduled for a December 6th release, will not hit shelves in the early months of 2017.

The reason behind the delay, according to UbiSoft’s official blog, is that “The development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal,” which we think is a good enough reason. Honestly, we’ll take whatever delays are necessary to make sure we get actually good games that aren’t horribly broken at release.
