Rockstar Officially Reveals ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’

After several days of teases, Rockstar has revealed the title of its next game in the Red Dead franchise. It will be called Red Dead Redemption 2 and is set for a Fall 2017 release. A launch trailer will be released on Thursday.

Rockstar has currently only listed Xbox One and PS4 as the intended platforms on its Newswire website, suggesting that the publisher may adopt a similar release model to Grand Theft Auto V, which saw a PC version released several months after the console versions.

According to the Newswire post, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be, “an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.” The multiplayer experience likely refers to Red Dead Online, which leaked earlier this morning.

Stay tuned for Red Dead Redemption 2’s first trailer, which arrives at 8am PT / 11am ET on Thursday, October 20.
