PlayStation Plus Memberships Are Going Up In Price Next Month

If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, expect to start paying more for your membership.

According to the PlayStation Blog, Sony will be increasing the price of subscriptions across the board for new and current members starting next month. PlayStation Plus offers regular discounts to its members, as well as free monthly games, and is required for online multiplayer access on PlayStation 4. The price hikes go into effect Sept. 22:

  • $59.99 for one year membership (up from $49.99)
  • $24.99 for three months (up from $17.99)
  • $9.99 for one month (no change in price)

Current subscribers will not have to pay the new price until the end of their current subscription period. This is the first time Sony has increased the price of its PlayStation Plus service since it launched in 2010.
