Jimmy Fallon Gets First Look At ‘Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ Running On Nintendo Switch

NBC

We’ve all seen gameplay footage of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but so far, Nintendo has only shown the game running on Wii U hardware. On last night’s episode of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon got a first hand look at Nintendo’s next console, the Switch, and also got to play the new Zelda game on the device, which is the first time it’s been shown running on the Switch in public.

The clip begins with a look at Super Mario Run, so skip ahead to the 4:55 mark to see Fallon playing the game. It might seem a bit odd for Nintendo to have the Switch’s debut be on The Tonight Show, but Fallon is really the perfect guy to have showcase this stuff, as his excitement is palpable and you can tell he’s legitimately thrilled to get to play a new Zelda game; something he doesn’t hesitate to tell the series’ creator Shigeru Miyamoto, who is in the audience.

The Nintendo Switch is out in March 2017, but it’s still unclear when Zelda will be released.
