If you’re anything like us, you’ve had instances where the Pokemon theme song comes rushing back to get stuck in your head over the last few weeks. Come on, you know the words. But have ever stopped and thought about who actually recorded that song?
It was a guy named Jason Paige, who recorded the theme song for the US version of the hit animated cartoon 18 years ago. Unfortunately, the recent popularity of Pokemon Go has done little to raise Paige’s fortunes as of late. It turns out that he received a one-time payment for his work, which means that even though Spotify plays and downloads of the song have skyrocketed over the last month, he won’t be seeing any residuals.
