‘Final Fantasy XII’ Remaster Finally Gets An Official Release Date

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, the upcoming remaster of the 2006 PlayStation 2 game, will release July 11 on PS4.

The announcement was made during the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Opening Ceremony event in Tokyo today. Square Enix revealed that July 11 is the release date for North America and Europe, with Japan having to wait a couple extra days (July 13).

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will feature upgraded graphics, a remastered soundtrack, 7.1 surround sound, auto-saving, faster load times, and a new Trial Mode, which appears to be an arena mode of sorts that tasks players with fighting all types of monsters in successive battles. The game will also introduce the Zodiac Job System to Western audiences, a 12-job character progression system that was only included in the original Japanese release.

Unfortunately, Square Enix did not announce when fans can expect to see the first episode of the Final Fantasy VII remake, but they did debut a new image from the game:
