EA Asking Fans To “Put Pitchforks Down” Following ‘Burnout Paradise’ Microtransaction Confusion

A recent store listing for the upcoming Burnout Paradise: Remastered caused confusion for some players when the word “microtransaction” was mentioned, but the game’s publisher EA has now clarified that it was an error.

EA’s Ben Walke took to Twitter to assure fans that Burnout Paradise: Remastered will not include any in-game purchases.

An updated re-release of the 2008 open-world racing classic, Burnout Paradise: Remastered arrives on PS4 and Xbox One on March 16, with a PC version to follow at an unspecified date. All previous DLC will be included, and the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X editions will support 4K resolution and 60 FPS.

Now, if EA could just tone down the use of microtransactions in its new games, we may be on to something here.

(Also, let’s hope that Burnout Paradise: Remastered is a sign that EA is interested in reviving the Burnout series, as it’s been far too long since we’ve seen a proper new game).
