Blizzard Announces Start Date For Overwatch Beta

After promising an announcement set for this Thursday on that would provide more information on Overwatch, their highly anticipated team-based shooter, Blizzard Entertainment (the company behind hit games such as World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Hearthstone) just announced on Twitter that the closed beta for Overwatch will begin on October 27th, or in just under two weeks.

The beta will reportedly feature 18 heroes and seven playable maps, and will run for an indeterminate length of time. If you haven’t already, you can sign up for a chance to participate in the Overwatch beta through your account, as with all Blizzard games. There are no plans for an open beta, although “stress test” weekends are planned which may allow more people to experience the game, so if you want a chance to play it early, make sure to sign up now!
