The 10 Hottest Cars For 2017 Via

It’s that time of year. Autumn is upon us and that means the world’s leading automotive manufacturers are rolling out their new 2017 models. From redesigned sport utility vehicles to new compact-sized trucks and sports cars that are taking luxury to a whole new level, the 2017 model vehicles have a lot of auto industry experts, journalists and consumers excited. And among all the cars, trucks, and other vehicles on display at auto shows across North America, there are a number of vehicles that are considered especially hot right now. To help keep you in the know about what’s peaking people’s interest, here is a list of the 10 hottest vehicles for 2017.

10. Chevy Bolt

Granted, this isn’t the sexiest car on the list. But the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, which is an all-electric car, has a lot to offer and has been impressing reviewers over the past few months with its mix of battery life, speed, and handling. With their eyes squarely on rival electric car maker Tesla, Chevrolet has pumped a lot of money into making the Bolt a reliable and competitive electric car. A subcompact hatchback, the Chevy Bolt can travel 200 miles on a single battery charge. That’s about twice the range of most current electric vehicles. It can also reach top speeds of 91 miles per hour – again, impressive for an electric car. Add in some great handling and an interior that features a sweet navigation system designed to plot optimum routes for the battery powered car, and a rearview mirror that is actually an LED screen that displays a wide-angle rearview camera shot, and the Chevy Bolt earns a spot on this hot cars list. 9. Hyundai Ioniq

Also in the “cool but not sexy” camp is the Hyundai Ioniq, a brand new four-door compact that is both a gas/electric hybrid and also a full electric car. That’s right, owners of this car have a choice. They can use the all-electric option or add some gas and go hybrid if they want to extend the vehicle’s driving range. The hybrid version can go 25 miles on the battery alone. But when fully charged, the purely electric version of this car can go as far as 110 miles on a charge. The engineers at Hyundai also didn’t neglect the driving experience with this vehicle, outfitting it with a six speed dual clutch automatic transmission that gives the car plenty of torque. It also has a forward auto braking system, and a smart cruise control system that can operate in stop and go traffic. This is truly a car for people who want it all. Via

8. Fiat 124 Spider

If you love convertibles (and who doesn’t), then you’ll want to check out the 2017 Fiat 124 Spider. Building on the now defunct Mazda Miata, Fiat has completely reinvented and updated the classic Spider for 2017. This car is designed to make people reminisce about the classic Spider of the 1960s. In fact, the car features lots of retro features, most notably rear wheel drive. Under the hood, this car has the same engine as the Fiat 500 and can produce 160 horsepower. With two doors and two seats, the 124 Spider feels like a true sports car. The interior boasts a state-of-the-art infotainment system, and the handling and feel of the car is helped by a sport suspension system that has left test drivers and reviewers of this car with their mouths hanging open. If you’ve always dreamed of owning a convertible, you can’t go wrong with this one. Via

7. Lexus LC 500

Sticking with sports cars, Lexus has unveiled a brand new line of upscale sports vehicles for 2017 under its “LC” nameplate. The first in the series is the LC 500, a car that is designed in almost every way to compete directly with the rival BMW 6 series of sports cars. A V8 engine that produces more than 450 horsepower enables the Lexus LC 500 to go from 0-to-60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds. Another rear wheel drive sports car, the LC 500 also comes in an optional convertible version. And like the BMWs it is competing against, the LC 500 is pure luxury inside. This is an impressive new entry in the luxury sports car market, and Lexus has big plans for the LC brand. But buyer beware — the LC 500 has a starting price of $100,000. So save those pennies. Via

6. Volvo S90/V90

Swedish auto giant Volvo is replacing the S80 at the top end of its model range with the all new S90 four door sedan, which is also available in a station wagon version called the V90. Based on the sizable XC90 crossover sport utility vehicle, the S90 and its station wagon equivalent are outfitted with eight speed automatic transmissions and engines that produce 250 horsepower. Volvo has kept many of the best features from the XC90 crossover inside the S90, including the large infotainment system with its tablet like touchscreen, which is a fan favourite. Cool standard features also include adaptive cruise control, an auto braking system, and a drive control system that keeps the car centered in-between the lane lines when driving on the highway. People who have tested this car say it is the best model developed by Volvo in many a moon. Via

5. Jaguar XE

Jaguar is breaking with convention and defying expectations in 2017 by debuting a brand new compact sedan known as the XE. Targeting the BMW 3 series, Jaguar is hoping that people will take a shine to its luxury compact sedan. Built with light-weight aluminum and available in three different engines, with the top one being a supercharged V6 capable of churning out 340 horsepower and reaching 60 miles per hour in about five seconds, the XE aims to impress. All-wheel drive is another option with the Jaguar XE, as is an adjustable suspension, blind spot monitoring, and auto braking. People can even order semi-automatic parallel parking with this new Jaguar. The engineers and designers at BMW had better take notice. Via

4. Genesis G90

What is a Genesis car, you ask? It is Hyundai’s new line of upscale cars. And the new imprint is debuting in 2017 with the Genesis G90, a sedan that promises a luxury interior and a magnificent driving experience. Engine options are either a powerful V6 or even more powerful V8. An eight speed automatic transmission comes standard, however, and there is also an all-wheel option and a sport model for people to select if they so choose. The interior has leather and wood trim, a head’s up instrument display system, ambient lighting to set the mood and two high definition rear entertainment screens to keep the kids amused. Reviewers have been particularly impressed with this car’s handling and suspension, saying it drives more like a sports car than a sedan. Hyundai is hoping consumers agree. Via

3. Alfa Romeo Giulia

Alfa Romeo has been winning praise with its 2017 Giulia, a mid-sized sedan that combines classic Italian design elements and pure power. This is, after all, a sedan that can reach 60 miles per hour in about 5.5 seconds. Other elements that have the automotive press salivating include a perfect front-to-rear weight ratio and handling that is given a boost by an extremely low center of gravity. All-wheel drive is optional but encouraged to bolster the handling, and there is a “race” mode featured in this car that gives a nice enhancement to everything from the acceleration to the suspension, steering, and braking. The driving experience of the Alfa Romeo Giulia is said to be second to none, and the luxury interior has leather with chrome finishes and state-of-the-art technology, including a world beating infotainment system. Our only question is: What are you waiting for? Via

2. Aston Martin DB11

In the category of “supercar” sits the Aston Martin DB11. This is a sexy and sleek luxury sports car that delivers everything people expect from James Bond’s favourite automaker. Built with lightweight aluminum and propelled by a supercharged V12 engine that cranks out 660 horsepower, owners of this car can expect to reach 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds. Other reasons to drool over this car include electric powering steering, an adjustable suspension, and torque to spare. The interior is pure luxury and makes people forget that they are actually driving a rocket in the Aston Martin DB11. Designed front-to-back with a classic feel, the DB11 is turning heads at auto shows all over the world, and is one of the reasons that people are so excited about 2017. Via YouTube

1. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Camaros are always awesome cars, and the 2017 ZL1 does not disappoint. This is a car that looks great on both the highway and the test track. In other words, this is a car that can be used either as a luxury sports car or a full-fledged race car. Designed to leave the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger in its dust, the Chevy Camaro ZL1 has a V8 engine that produces 640 horsepower and is tricked out with a six speed manual transmission for people who really know how to drive and appreciate this type of car. Other reasons to choose this car include performance traction control, a supped up suspension, and superior handling. Inside, people are treated to sport seats, a steering wheel that is covered in suede, and muscular controls with an equally muscular stick shift. If this car weren’t awesome enough, it is also available in a convertible version. Gearheads rejoice! Via
