Mazda will be expanding its vehicle lineup even further this year with the unveiling of the CX-4 CUV. As the name hints, the crossover is expected slot between the current CX-3 CUV and CX-5 SUV offerings.

Thus far, all that Mazda has revealed about the vehicle is a teaser image of the rear pillar (pictured above), as well as a statement that the CX-4 will have “a striking presence that sets it apart from other SUVs,” and that it is “a new type of crossover SUV designed to help customers live more creative lives.”

The CX-4 is expected to take design cues from the Koeru concept that Mazda unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015. This means the vehicle will likely have a coupe-like shape, chrome-trimmed D-pillar windows and roof rails, as well as a small spoiler above the window on the hatch door.

We can’t wait to have a better look at this exciting new vehicle when it debuts at the Beijing Motor Show, which takes place from April 25 to May 4.
