Live from New Orleans, Louisiana

It’s apparently time for Mick Foley’s performance review, as Stephanie McMahon questions Mick spreading rumors that the Undertaker will be on Raw that night. They’re interrupted by Seth Rollins, who enters himself in the Rumble, and Braun Strowman, who wants Reigns or Goldberg. Rollins takes exception at being interrupted, and a brawl erupts.

– Roman Reigns vs Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho for the US Title never started, because Braun Strowman came out and started fighting Reigns

A 3-on-1 assault ensued, and Seth Rollins ran out with a chair to even the odds. Rollins and Reigns fought off Strowman, but Stephanie McMahon announced that the US Title match would still happen later, and Rollins would face Strowman immediately.

– Braun Strowman vs Seth Rollins ended in a Double Count-out when Strowman wasn’t fast enough dragging the corpse of Rollins back to the ring

An even angrier Strowman tried to re-introduce a chair, but Rollins stole it, so Strowman walked away.

Backstage, Sasha and Bayley talked about Bayley becoming #1 Contender, and Sasha suggested she would be next in line when Bayley beat Charlotte at the Rumble. Charlotte interrupted to point out that nobody has ever beaten her for the title on PPV. Nia Jax appeared from behind and attacked Sasha’s knee, and Charlotte took out Bayley. Nia then shoved Charlotte into a stack of equipment.

– Jack Gallagher d. Drew Gulak (pinfall, Running Front Dropkick)

Postmatch, Gallagher invited Ariya Daivari to meet him on 205 Live in parlay. Failing that, fisticuffs.

Shawn Michaels came out to promote the Rumble, since twenty years ago he won the WWE Championship at the Rumble the last time it was in San Antonio. Then he moves on to shilling for his movie, but is interrupted by Rusev and Jinder Mahal. Rusev said the only way the movie would be successful would be if Lana was in it. They awkwardly trash talk each other (including the instant classic shut-down line “That must be an American joke, because I don’t get it”) until Enzo and Cass come out to make fun of the heels, using insulting movie titles. Eventually, Cass challenges Rusev to a match, but Rusev passes it off to Jinder.

– Big Cass d. Jinder Mahal (pinfall, Empire Elbow)

During the match, Michaels hit Rusev with Sweet Chin Music after an attempted distraction.

– Neville d. Lince Dorado (submission, Rings of Saturn)

Postmatch, Neville put Dorado back in the Rings, but Rich Swann made the save.

– Sheamus d. Luke Gallows (pinfall, Brogue Kick)

During the match, Karl Anderson and Cesaro, who were on commentary, began brawling on the stage, distracting the competitors in the ring and leading to the finish.

Mick Foley came out to exhort The Undertaker to appear, as his job was now on the line. The lights went down, but came up to reveal Stephanie, who proceeded to deliver Mick Foley’s performance review. Stephanie blamed Foley for everything wrong with Raw, but before he could respond, the gong hit and The Undertaker appeared. Taker entered himself in the Rumble match (complete with a cut to Strowman watching backstage, cue the foreshadowing music), and said he answers to no one. Anyone who stands in his way will, of course, Rest In Peace.

– Nia Jax and Charlotte d. Bayley and Sasha Banks (Nia pinned Bayley, Atomic Legdrop)

Backstage, Alicia Fox gave Noam Dar a dramatic kiss, then said that he couldn’t handle a real woman.

Titus O’Neil came out with The New Day to once again try and become a member. Instead, they showed embarassing footage of him failing at an obstacle course during NXT Season 2. They offered him a shot at redemption and revealed a beer keg similar to the one from the obstacle course. Titus successfully ran the course, but dropped the keg before he crossed the finish line, and was disqualified.

– Kofi Kingston d. Titus O’Neil (pinfall, Trouble In Paradise)

– Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens d. Roman Reigns in a Handicap Match (Jericho pinned Reigns, Codebreaker). Chris Jericho wins the WWE United States Title

Before the match, Reigns attempted to lock Jericho in the shark cage on the entrance ramp, but was thwarted by Owens and Jericho, who beat Reigns down before the opening bell. For the finish, Jericho hit a Codebreaker, then Owens hit an apron powerbomb on Reigns, followed by another Codebreaker.
